This job broke my heart. For many years, I’ve been working towards an opportunity to really show what I’ve learnt. I’d been learning in my own time many new AI tools, new VFX tools and 3D stuff to keep myself prepared for when an opportunity would come. This idea came up - here it is I thought. There was a problem though because I’d been so accommodating and going above and beyond all the time. I’d trained those around me how to treat me. To others, I was the guy who made million dollar stuff, for nothing. And quick. When it started the timings were insane, the script wasn’t great, and I was forced into a reactive workflow that doesn’t match with the needs of producing a job like this by myself. All this work for what is ultimately not funny, satirical or even interesting. It killed me. It’s just ‘content’ to post-rationalize a case study out of. I should have said ‘no’ at the start, but I just couldn’t let my dream die. A big mistake… but a big lesson learnt here. And one - that’s changed me.
