Legacy
Most of our time working, we’re just selling things. A lot of the time, these things are often what people don’t really need. Mostly it’s maintaining a system of heightened consumerism, that needs to be constantly growing as to keep companies expanding so that shares get larger and larger. It’s a trade-off I’ve come to terms with as being necessary so I can be my truest creative self and survive in this world. But every once in a while I work on something that has deeper meaning and true purpose. To genuinely help.. This job was a while ago now, but it meant a lot to me, not only because it was something poetic and for a good cause, but because my brother served in the army. While I was working on this he was getting shot at in Afghanistan, and through talking to him on his satellite phone while he was in a veritable hell, I could see how my brother was going to suffer when he came back. I worked many a late night on this not just to do a good job with no resources, but for my brother who still suffers PTSD to this day.
